One of the most beloved players in Chicago Cubs history, Ryne Sandberg had the bat game ready during the 1989 season. Ryno hit .290 with an even 30 homers and led the National League in runs scored. This Rawlings 256B model bat is un-cracked and shows no game use, with some bat rack marks. Sandberg’s number “23” is written on the knob in black marker and his number “23” and “256S” has been handwritten in black marker on the top barrel. The Hall of Famer has signed his name in LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17098) for being game ready and a COA from Beckett Authentication (H39768) for his signature.

Sandberg established himself as a perennial All-Star and Gold Glove candidate, making 10 consecutive All-Star appearances and winning nine consecutive Gold Gloves from 1983 to 1991. His career .989 fielding percentage was a major-league record at second base when he retired in 1997. Sandberg was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in January 2005; he was formally inducted in ceremonies on July 31, 2005.
